Harry Kane has another record in his sights, after it emerged the Tottenham frontman is just two goals short of becoming the highest scoring right-footed blond since the Falklands War on Tuesdays against clubs with a mammal-based mascot and at least one former player who has married a pop star.
Kane may have to wait a little while before setting the new record though, as despite Spurs’ next opponents Everton having an Elephant for a mascot, the match has been arranged for a Saturday.
Dennis Bergkamp, who is just one goal ahead of Harry Kane in these goalscoring stakes, put on a rare display of North London solidarity by tweeting his support.
The former Arsenal striker wrote: “Wow wasn’t aware I was still the top blond right-footer on Tues against mammal mascot clubs with ex players marrying pop stars since Falklands. Good luck @harrykane hope you break the record soon.”
Bergkamp then added two clappy hand emojis to show how genuine his sentiments are.
He did add though in a rather cheeky second tweet: “Maybe if I’d got off my arse to fly to a few away games, I could have scored even more though, no?”
