Liverpool’s ‘Fab Four’ attack to be renamed Philippe Coutinho and Wings

Liverpool’s so-called Fab Four attack are to be renamed Philippe Coutinho and Wings to better reflect their success.

Eagle-eyed readers of tabloid newspapers have pointed out that the Fab Four term – coined in the last few weeks to describe Mane, Salah, Coutinho and Firmino – inaccurately links the world’s most successful band with an attack that has struggled against Spartak Moscow and Newcastle.

Music critic Tom Wilson says: “While the use of Philippe Coutinho and Wings may appear to offer less to headline writers, there might be the occasional memorable piece, such as Jet (To Barcelona) and Live and Let Me Finally Move Goddamn It.

“Allowing Coutinho to form his own band could also free his team-mates to puruse their own solo careers – Sadio Mane is expected to have a real hit with Happy Xmas (Champions League is Over).

“Adam Lallana is also believed to be interested in a voiceover gig on Thomas the Tank Engine before reappearing 40 years later by supporting Brexit.”
