Time Magazine has shocked the world by naming Marouane Fellaini its Man of The Year.
The Manchester United big man beat off competition from Kim Jong-un, Emmanuel Macron and Frank de Boer to scoop the prestigious honour, which Donald Trump last week claimed to have turned down as the magazine wanted an interview.
The New York-based magazine wrote: “Fellaini ended 2016 a much derided figure, but has made a giant fuzzy-haired place for himself in all Man Utd fans’ hearts with a number of impressive performances in 2017.
“He was also subject of the funniest photo of the year – the one with the squishy face as the ball hit his cheek.
“The Belgian international has done more than anyone else this year for the cause of big bulky bastardy footballers, and has done more than anyone else for the afro in decades.
“He has also proved to be a crusader off the pitch, with a £2m lawsuit he filed against New Balance proving he is sticking up for the oft-forgotten rights of footballers to have comfy feet.
“Fellaini, we salute you.”
