Southampton have offered their veteran third-choice goalkeeper Stuart Taylor to Liverpool for just £50m – as a cheap way to solve the Reds’ goalkeeping issues.
An email received by Liverpool and accidentally forwarded to Inside The Far Post reveals details of the offer.
Entitled ‘Southampton FC January Sale Extravaganza’ the email says:
‘Dear Liverpool FC,
As a loyal customer of our club, why not take advantage of an exclusive special offer on our range of used goalkeepers.
We are proud to offer Stuart Taylor for a price of £50m – reduced from an RRP of £150m. That’s 66% off in our January Sale Extravaganza!
Stuart Taylor now features 50% bigger hands to reach the parts of the goal that Mignolet and Karius can’t. This 1.96m goalkeeper is extendable to 2.1m for added comfort in penalty shootouts.
So go ahead, add this goalkeeper to your shopping basket and order today in just two clicks.’
A page profiling Stuart Taylor is linked to on the email. This page features one review of Taylor from a Mr A Wenger in 2003, rating Taylor with four stars and describing him as “the future of English goalkeeping”.
